Project Name: Whitehorse Trail Paving, Trailhead Parking, and Barrier Installation


Project Number: RR9373


Project Description:SnohomishCountyPublic Works in coordination with Parks, Recreation, and Tourism

proposes to pave the 0.9 mile of Whitehorse Trail that was damaged by the slide in 2014 and reconstructed in

2016. In addition, a concrete and wood barrier will be installed along the north side of the trail, as well as a

gravel trailhead parking lot with 30 stalls at the corner of SR530 andC Post Road.


The Whitehorse Trail is a 27 mile-long trail on a former railroad grade that links the cities ofArlingtonand

Darrington. Portions of the trail are graveled and accessible for walking and horseback riding. Parks was

awarded a grant to pave this section of trail and provide trailhead parking. The barrier is made possible through

generous donations of labor and materials from the community. Land disturbing activities for the trail paving,

trailhead parking, and barrier installation would include approximately 3,000 cubic yards.

between mile post 37 and 38.
