Project Description:SnohomishCountyPublic Works proposes the demolition of structures on tax parcel

#27071200201000. The house is located roughly 130 feet landward from the OHWM of theSkykomishRiver.

This property has lost approximately 0.75 acres to theSkykomishRiversince 2015. FEMA considers the

property a “Threat of Substantial Damage” and agrees to fund the flood mitigation strategy for acquisition of

the property. Following acquisition, the residence and all other structures will be demolished. The driveway

will be decomissioned in the riparian areas of the river, and the septic system and well abandoned. The

upland compacted driveway and barnyard areas will not be removed or excavated and will be converted to

pasture for agricultural use. All disturbed areas will be stabilized with mulch and planted with native plants.

Two patches of bamboo and three pampas grass plants will be removed. Other non-native vegetation will

be preserved if possible. This project is not considered “development” under WAC 173-27-030(6). The

clearing quantity is 25,000 square feet and the grading quanity is 50 cubic yards.
