To comply with the public records training requirement established by RCW 42.56.150, this training will


provide commissioners with relevant information about the Public Records Act, its application to the Planning


Commissions’ records and commissioners’ emails, and the retention and production of these records under


the law.

Steve Skorney, PDS Senior Planner, will provide introductory comments on the public hearings that will be


held regarding the following proposed 2016 County-initiated Comprehensive Plan Update amendments (part


of Batch 2). Planning Commission members were briefed on these proposed amendments at their regular

PDS staff will provide Part 2 of a briefing continued from April 26, 2016, on proposed policy and text


amendments to the General Policy Plan (GPP) as outcomes of coordinated long range planning established


by the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding between the Tulalip Tribes andSnohomishCounty. Following


this briefing, a public hearing will be held and public testimony will be taken.

PLANNING COMMISSION’S RANGE OF POSSIBLE ACTIONS:


 


At the conclusion of its public hearing, the County Planning Commission will consider transmitting a formal


recommendation to County Council concerning adoption of the ordinance. The Commission may make a


recommendation to adopt or to not adopt the ordinance. The Commission’s recommendation may also propose


amendments to the ordinance. The Planning Commission is an advisory body and the final decision rests with


the County Council.
