LotSize Averaging Code Amendments: Hearing

The Planning Commission was briefed on proposed code amendments to the Lot Size Averaging provisions


under SCC 30.23.210 on April 23, 2019. The proposed code amendments would simplify and clarify the lot


size averaging provisions. The Planning Commission will now hold a public hearing on the proposal.


PDS staff recommends that the Planning Commission forward the proposed code amendments to the


Snohomish County Council with a recommendation to adopt the amendments in the form presented at the


August 27, 2019 Planning Commission hearing.

Annual Capital Improvement Program: Briefing

Planning and Development Services (PDS) along with the Finance Department coordinates an annual


Capital Improvement (CIP) Program that theCountyCharterrequires to be adopted with the County budget


each year. This informational briefing will provide a high-level overview of the County’s annual CIP including


how it satisfies state and local requirements, and the process for updating it so it can be considered by the


County Council as part of the annual budget.

Urban Development: Informational Briefing

PDS will provide a briefing on the Urban Development Background paper, which is one of a series of


background papers in preparation for the 2023 Comprehensive Plan update. The 2023 update provides an


opportunity to review urban development and land use sections in the comprehensive plan, and determine


what portions, if any, the county may want to change.

PLANNING COMMISSION’S RANGE OF POSSIBLE ACTIONS:


 


At the conclusion of its public hearing, the County Planning Commission will consider transmitting a formal


recommendation to County Council concerning adoption of the proposal. The Commission may make a


recommendation to adopt or to not adopt the proposal. The Commission’s recommendation may also propose


amendments to the proposal. The Planning Commission is an advisory body and the final decision rests with the


County Council.
