Erosion Hazard Areas Code Amendments: Hearing

The Planning Commission will hold a hearing on a non-project proposal to amend the list of exceptions to


SCC 30.62B.330(3), Erosion hazard areas - Channel migration zones to allow the construction of public


parks. The Planning Commission was briefed on the proposed amendments at their February 26, 2019


meeting

2. Digital Signs in the Clearview Rural Commercial Zone: Hearing

a recommendation back to the Council. The proposal would amend the county’s development regulations


(Chapter 30.27 SCC) to add the Clearview Rural Commercial zone to the list of zones in which digital


signs are allowed. The Planning Commission will hold a hearing and have an opportunity for questions and


discussion.

Southwest Urban Growth Boundary Planning Study: Informational Briefing

Planning and Development Services is midway through a project to study part of the county adjacent


to the fast-growing south-easterly edge of the Southwest Urban Growth Area (SWUGA). The project is not


proposing changes to land use, policies or UGA boundaries. It is a high-level study to provide background


about existing conditions in the SWUGA study area, and opportunities and constraints to consider if


adjustments to the boundary are under review in the future. This will be an informational briefing to the


Planning Commission on the study. For more information on the Southwest Urban Growth Boundary

Introduction to 2023 Update: Informational Briefing

Staff will provide an overview of the upcoming 2023 Growth Management Act Comprehensive Plan Update


and Compliance Review. Topics to be covered include GMA requirements, key tasks, schedule, outreach


and role of the Planning Commission.

PLANNING COMMISSION’S RANGE OF POSSIBLE ACTIONS:


 


At the conclusion of its public hearing, the County Planning Commission will consider transmitting a formal


recommendation to County Council concerning adoption of the proposal. The Commission may make a


recommendation to adopt or to not adopt the proposal. The Commission’s recommendation may also propose


amendments to the proposal. The Planning Commission is an advisory body and the final decision rests with the


County Council.
